Oooh He Can Get It

John Legend announced another concert tour on Sunday. He’s pretty much the greatest thing to happen to my eardrums, so I obviously want to go. This fabulous news is the perfect preface to a post I’ve been thinking about:

John Legend + Andre 3000’s Green Light

(Permitted he was mildly attractive and a reasonable age, of course.
I do have some lingering standards.)

  • Dying to meet you
    so let’s mess around
  • 1, 2, 3 red light
I wanna see what your bed’s like
  • So I went hard
    like Medusa staring at me
  • Hey if I were you
it would be me that I go home with
  • This what I’m telling you
to the bed I’m nailing you
like I been in jail for two years and they just lettin me loose
  • Even Stevie Wonder got down sometimes

You’re Confused

Dear Pandora,

On multiple occasions I have praised your ingenuity. Today, however, I question your logic, because these two selections are not related. How can I do it in public if I can’t get no?

M is for Moderation

And I know one day you’ll see, nobody has it easy. – John Legend

In the roller-coaster ride that is my life in Lubbock, it’s far too easy to indulge in excess of almost all things but excitement and good times. But I can’t let this continue because it’s too easy to get stuck in a funk. I want a lot of things I can’t or don’t have, and I was not exactly ready for how different my life would be. Yet  it is what it is. So I’m going to try very, very hard to keep it together. At least until I make it back to Iowa and someone can help me pick up the pieces.

Five Sexiest Men on TV: 2010

This time last year I composed a “sexiest men on tv” post that has continued to direct traffic to my blog. But since then, some of those hit-inducing-hotties have left the top five. Goodbye Don, Derek and Fisher. Say hello to the sexiest men on my TV in 2010.

#5. Tom Jeter Studio 60: On the Sunset Strip

Tom Jeter

He’s cute and awkward and funny and real.

#4. Jack Hodgins Bones

Jack Hodgins

A wealthy conspiracy theorist with fabulous sexual ingenuity (Egyptian storage room to John Legend music?), he finally stole my heart in Season 5.

#3. Cappie Greek

I wasn’t much for Greeks in college, but Cappie is an exception. As they said on the show, he’s something of a scruffy Rob Thomas. Cu-ute. Plus he’s goofy.

#2. Agent Seeley Booth Bones

Agent Seeley Booth

His belt buckle says “cocky.” He’s adorably corny. He’s a family man. If you’re having a bad day he’ll show up with Chinese food or donuts. I could probably get lost in his eyes. And arms. And abs.

#1. Hank Moody Californication

Hank Moody

I am irrationally and undeniably attracted to a man that sluts it up and does some occasionally awful things. I think it’s because he’s a tortured artist debilitatingly in love with an amazing woman. And he’s the smart, sexy bad boy who is mind-blowing in bed. Yes please.

Sexiest men on my iPod

Come Wednesday, I have a long drive ahead of me. That means I have to seriously consider the tunes I’ll be rocking. In an effort to get in the right mindset for mix-making, here are the ten sexiest men on my iPod.

1. Stephan Jenkins Third Eye Blind
He aged fantastically and his voice is orgasmic.

2. Rob Thomas Matchbox Twenty
He’s so good live. His wife is hot. So is he.

3. Usher
He does stuff with that body I can’t even put in words.

4. Frank Sinatra

The ultimate crooner, yet total bad boy.

5. Justin Timberlake
I’ve got you–from NSYNC to FutureSex/LoveSounds.

6. John Legend
I think my multitudinous professions of love speak for themselves.

7. Taye Diggs
Oh heeeeey.

8. Rivers Cuomo Weezer
I {heart} nerds.

9. Neil Patrick Harris
That’s hot. And my iPod would be a sad place without Dr. Horrible.

10. Prince Phillip
Who can say no? He hasn’t aged a bit since 1959.

There’s nothing quite like the combination of a hot man and good music. Well, maybe a hot man, and good music sung by a hot man. There’s the winner.

Forget About the World

… I’m groovin’ with my girl. – John Legend

It’s my birthday, again. It’s happens every year around this time. Days got long and I was born. Howsabout that.

Despite an upsetting episode involving move-out, today was great. I worked both jobs for a bit. I had lunch with Carey. After work I ran to Target, bought some wine and a couple baking supplies, and was met at home by a dear friend toting half-cheeseburger-half-four-cheese pizza, and a personal-sized ice cream birthday cake! Big Tomato Pizza gets checked off the TDL!

Then my old roomie (funny, the pizza-delivery girl is also an old roomie!) came over, shared some pizza and gave me a book I can’t wait to read. After a gab session, Jenny peaced and Emily and I started baking cookies (peanut butter oatmeal rounds). They’re all cooling off for my going away party tomorrow.

And now I’m sitting on my flooring listening to John Legend. Most of which I purchased on my last birthday in preparation for the John Legend concert. sigh. It’s really been a great year. Don’t let me down, 24.

It’s Sunday night. I’m lying in bed, reading Sherlock Holmes, drinking white wine, and listening to Pandora’s ‘Sex Therapy’ station. This, in itself, is wonderful. However, Pandora is mixing one hell of a night. It’s too bad this bed is so small and I’m the only one in it. I can’t say I’m planning on taking advantage of Pandora’s hotness, but in case you are, let me share this oh-so-sexy playlist for your next late-night rendezvous.
