Five Sexiest Men on my TV: 2016

Uh, guys. This year was hard. I watched a lot of shows with a lot of people I was not attracted to. I mean, I watched The Fall, Broadchurch, Aquarius, Poirot, Luke Cage, Homeland, Galavant, Mr Robot, The Code, The IT Crowd, Schitt’s Creek, London Spy, Jessica Jones, House of Cards, West Wing, Buffy, Scandal, Ripper Street, Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond, Better Off Ted. OK, I admit I was uncomfortably attracted to David Tennant in JJ, but that’s not going to make the list.

My number one and number two spots are leagues above the rest. Looks, humour, wit, money… they have it all.

#5 Nate Hyatt House of Lies

Sells sex toys. Confident as hell. Totally adorable.

#4 Malcolm Reynolds Firefly

Good-hearted, hilarious cowboy space pirate. Obvious choice.

#3 Alberto Márquez Velvet

This man is uncomfortably attractive in anything that he wears. Or doesn’t, like this scene where he does a strip tease with his lady love. He’s dark and brooding and passionate and loyal and childish and wonderful.

#2 Mateo Ruiz Lagasca Velvet

The best friend, not the leading man, he’s much more my type. Playful playboy bachelor who wins ladies over with humour and the right amount of paying attention and leaving them wanting more. He’s just a simple guy and pushover at heart, though.

#1 Logan Huntzberger Gilmore Girls

Didn’t think I could love him more than I did last year, but indeed, I do. So much more. This re-watch had me all giddy and girly over the boy. So very caring, so very damn sexy.

Five Sexiest Men on My TV: 2015

Being unemployed for four months before starting grad school, I had a lot of free time for finding sexy men on TV shows. But one show swept this year, and I think it was a combination of me wanting to be the women and the men being so awesome. This year’s runners up include Freddie Lyon from The Hour (fantastic show), Evan the Botanist from My Boys, and Mike Faber from Homeland. Honestly, I think we should take a moment to just be grateful the whole list, and runners up, aren’t all from GG, because they sure could be.

#5 Jim Gordon Gotham

I just started watching this show, I can’t figure him out. I’m intrigued.

#4 Luke Danes Gilmore Girls

This photo sums it up. #curmudgeon

#3 Christopher Hayden Gimore Girls

He was always so unattainable, and I loved that about him. That and all his devilmaycare.

#2 Mike Ross Suits

I think I mostly like his taste in girlfriends (AKA I WANT TO BE HER) but damn if he’s not fun.

#1 Logan Huntzberger Gilmore Girls

He’s perfect. The intelligent, quick witted, adventurous, doting, caring, completely rebellious bad boy–with a lot of money.

Five Sexiest Men on My TV: 2014

Well, I’m almost two months late. I’ve even had the list done for a while. This year I had a few contenders for slot #5. Runners up include: Jake Ballard (Scandal), Dr. Robert Leeds (Sex and the City), Smith Jerrod (Sex and the City), Devin ‘Captain Awesome’ Woodcomb (Chuck).

#5 Aidan Sex and the City

He makes furniture, takes down walls, has a huge wall, wears a mad flannel, and cleans up quite nicely.

#4 Larry Paul Ally McBeal

He’s totally damaged and he breaks hearts. Just my type.

#3 Richard Castle Castle

He writes, he’s the coolest dad ever, and that hair, the smile.

#2 Chuck Chuck

chkThe awkward, cute, goofy, helpful sort-of-slacker geeky guy.

#1 Mr. Big Sex and the City

Big, rich, and sexy. He makes mistakes. He cooks. He needs personal space. He has these eyes with a deep, soul-piercing gaze.

Gilmore Girls on Netflix

Listen here, interwebs. I didn’t watch Gilmore Girls when it was on TV. I think my mom did, which probably explains why I didn’t. (The only things I can remember watching with her were Diagnosis Murder and Touched by an Angel. I’m not as embarrassed by that as I should be.)

But now it’s on Netflix. I’ve ranked it right next to Californication and West Wing as the-most-binge-worthy shows ever. The writing is addicting. The wit and intelligence and quirk are out of this world.

Five Sexiest Men on My TV: 2013

This year was one for the romantics. And the nerds. And the badboys.

#5 Jesse Pinkman Breaking Bad

I really didn’t like this guy the first few seasons, but he’s got that whole scruffy bad boy with a good heart thing.

#4 Arthur Pendragon Merlin

He really grew up in this last season, and his teeth are fixed, and he wears chainmail. Rawr.

#3 Spencer Reid Criminal Minds

Extremely intelligent snappy dressing nerd. Need I say more?

#2 Nick Miller New Girl

Total goof wearing plaid, mild to no ambitions, and a heart of gold.

#1 Neal Caffrey White Collar

Screen shot 2013-10-08 at 11.10.36 PM

I mean, mother of god. He looks this good near-naked and even better in a suit. He’s the ultimate romantic and a total rulebreaker. Swoon.

Five Sexiest Men on My TV: 2011

I missed it! My “Five Sexiest” post should have occurred this time-ish last month. This year is a little rough. I’m re-watching old shows, still following some current ones, and watching some that are entirely new to me (and not new to anyone else). There was not a clear selection for my top five, or the rankings within. Many of my favorites fell from grace. It’s a strange year, indeed.

#5 Stringer Bell The Wire

Stringer Bell

He’s not a good person. But the way he does business (and looks) is damn hot.

#4 Gisborne Robin Hood

Sir Guy of Gisborne

He’s just so awkward and lovesick and clueless. He’s not nice, but he means well. And he’s British.

#3 Hank Moody Californication

Hank Moody

Hank fell, and fell solely because the show isn’t as good as it used to be. Tragic, passionate, fuck-up Hank, still makes me swoon. The Hank who wrote a letter to a pregnant Karen still makes me teary. Early Hank owns my heart.

#2 Fisher GREEK

Back to the top five for this guy. I know he’s a cheater, but everything else about him would quite possibly make him my number one. Watching this a third time, he really reminds me of the guy I dated in college–bike and GDI status included.

#1 Jim Halpert The Office

It took me until this month to see The Office. I refrained from watching it for a lot of dumb reasons (like it was closely linked to my friend’s sex life, or everyone loved it so much I felt stupid for never having seen it). But now, like many girls, I adore Jim. Of course he’s cute and funny, but mostly I am enamored with the way he makes Pam feel–blissfully happy, confident, and comfortable. I want that.

Reasons to love the 80s

Star Wars. Indiana Jones. Back to the Future. Me.

And this:

"Why don't you let me feed you after midnight and get you wet."

Welcome Back, Hank.

Not only does the lady have bodacious ta-tas, she also has splendiferous taste in literature. – Hank Moody. sigh.

Farm Fun

After a hefty day of Netflixin’ on Saturday, my watch history was looking like a sci-fi nerd’s dream (episodes of Stargate Atlantis and Firefly, plus the movies Serenity and Star Trek). So, on Sunday I decided to shake things up with a little Iowa-based American Pickers. In two episodes, my heart was aching for Iowa and the good old days on my family’s farms. I can remember chopping wood, catching bugs next to the corn crib, picking vegetables behind the barn, and–my favorite–trying to break foot-long chunks of ice off the buildings that had snow drifts large enough to climb to the roof. I remember being terrified of a rabid raccoon in a beat-down barn, stepping through bat poop in the attic of the “Mc Mansion” and climbing through hay and mounds of feed corn. These days it doesn’t quite trip my trigger, but the bug-dirt-outdoor-loving little Kristina couldn’t get enough.

Except when it came time to unload the wood when we got home. I hated that–no other 10-year-old in my school was subjected to that cruel labor.

Five Sexiest Women on TV

Who am I to be sexist? Ladies can think ladies are fine, even if I don’t want to get in bed with one of them. So that’s that. I present to you, my first annual Five Sexiest Women on TV.

#5. Carrie Bradshaw Sex and the City

Carrie Bradshaw

Maybe it’s because she ages well. Maybe it’s the guys. Or the closet. Maybe it’s just because she’s a writer. And I’m a writer. And I want a happy ending, too.

#4. Joan Halloway Mad Men

Joan Halloway/Harris

Because you can’t look at her without being blown away. Try it. I dare you.

#3. Camille Soroyan Bones

Dr. Camille Soroyan

Camille is smart, fun, and a very sharp dresser. For realz, this woman always looks hot. Plus she’s sexy. And she’s the woman in charge.

#2. Karen Californication

Part of Karen’s appeal is Hank. He undeniably loves her. Don’t we all want that? But she’s also a foxy lady with this cool factor I can’t fathom possessing.

#1. Angela Montenegro Bones

Angela Montenegro

No questions, Angela is the sexiest woman on my TV (or computer screen, rather). She’s absolutely beautiful, funny, carefree and seriously smart. Her sexual escapades are fabulous (especially with Jack Hodgins) and everyone on the show seems to be attracted to her. Me. too.
